Support to Schools and Students
Cerebral Palsy of New Jersey provides the expertise and solutions to help your child and/or young adult obtain an education beginning with pre-school that, upon graduation from high school will result in employment, advanced education and/or meaningful participation in the community through interesting and fulfilling activities.
Our student success team, made up of staff from a variety of disciplines, provides assistance to teachers, families, child study teams and students on:
- curriculum adaptations to enable the child
and the teacher to have a successful experience in the classroom
- transition planning from school-to-adult
life that includes structured learning experiences, job sampling,
career exploration and links to adult services
- assessments in the areas of speech, augmentative
communication, computer access, community and work skills
- utilizing assistive technology to achieve
full participation in the classroom
- Individualized Education Plans (IEP)
- Prevention Education
- Activities for Daily Living including travel
options
- obtaining support from other resources such
as the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), the Division
of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), Medicaid, and others
